1 Có lời ĐỨC CHÚA phán với tôi rằng:2 Hỡi con người, xưa có hai người đàn bà là con cùng một mẹ.3 Chúng đã đàng điếm ở Ai-cập; ngay từ thời thơ ấu, chúng đã đàng điếm. Ở đó, chúng đã bị bóp vú, bị nắn ngực còn trinh.4 Tên của chúng: chị là O-ho-la, em là O-ho-li-va. Chúng đã thuộc về Ta và sinh được một bầy con trai con gái. Đây là tên của chúng: O-ho-la là Sa-ma-ri và O-ho-li-va là Giê-ru-sa-lem.5 O-ho-la đã làm điếm thay vì ở với Ta. Nó si mê các tình nhân của nó: với Át-sua là những binh sĩ6 mặc áo đỏ tía, với các quan thái thú và khâm sai trẻ trung hấp dẫn, với những kỵ binh cỡi ngựa.7 Nó đã bằng lòng đàng điếm với chúng. Cả hai chị em đều cùng một lối sống như nhau.14 Nó còn thêm vào chuyện đàng điếm của mình: nó nhìn những hình đàn ông khắc trên tường, ảnh quân Can-đê vẽ bằng sơn đỏ,15 đai thắt ngang lưng, khăn quấn lên đầu buông thõng xuống; tất cả trông như những kỵ sĩ có dáng dấp con cái Ba-by-lon, nguyên quán tại Can-đê.16 Vừa nhìn thấy thế, nó đã si mê nên sai sứ giả đến gặp chúng tại Can-đê.17 Bấy giờ, con cái Ba-by-lon đến tình tự với nó; chúng đã làm cho nó ra ô uế vì thói đàng điếm của chúng. Nhưng khi nó đã ra ô uế vì chúng rồi, nó không còn quyến luyến chúng nữa.18 Nó ngang nhiên để lộ thói đàng điếm và phơi bày sự trần truồng của nó ra; bấy giờ Ta không lưu luyến nó như đã thôi lưu luyến chị nó.19 Nhưng nó đã gia tăng các việc đàng điếm của nó để nhớ lại thời thơ ấu nó đã đàng điếm bên đất Ai-cập.20 Nó đã si mê hạng trác táng. Mình chúng như mình lừa, chúng cuồng loạn như giống ngựa. 21 Ngươi tìm kiếm tội ác tày trời thời thơ ấu khi người Ai-cập bóp vú, nắn ngực còn con gái của ngươi.22 Vì thế, hỡi O-ho-li-va, ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng phán như sau: Này Ta xúi các tình nhân của ngươi chống lại ngươi; chúng không còn lưu luyến ngươi nữa; Ta sẽ dẫn chúng tới đánh ngươi từ khắp tứ phía.23 Con cái Ba-by-lon và tất cả người Can-đê, Pơ-cốt, Sô-a, Cô-a, tất cả con cái Át-sua cùng với chúng, tất cả những thanh niên trẻ trung hấp dẫn, các quan thái thú, các khâm sai, tất cả các sĩ quan và binh lính, tất cả đều là kỵ binh cỡi ngựa.24 Chúng sẽ từ phương Bắc đến đánh ngươi đem theo chiến mã, chiến xa cùng với các dân liên minh với nhau; chúng cho đặt thuẫn, khiên, mũ chiến chung quanh ngươi để đánh ngươi; Ta sẽ trao quyền xét xử cho chúng và chúng sẽ xét xử ngươi tuỳ theo phán quyết của chúng.25 Ta sẽ nổi ghen đánh phạt ngươi; chúng sẽ nổi giận trừng phạt ngươi. Chúng xẻo mũi, cắt tai ngươi; con cháu ngươi sẽ phải ngã gục vì gươm. Chúng sẽ bắt con trai con gái ngươi; con cháu ngươi sẽ bị lửa nuốt chửng.26 Chúng sẽ lột quần áo và đoạt các đồ trang sức của ngươi.27 Ta sẽ cho chấm dứt tội ác tày trời và thói đàng điếm của ngươi từ đất Ai-cập; ngươi sẽ không ngước mắt nhìn lên chúng và sẽ không còn nhớ đến quân Ai-cập nữa.28 Quả thật, ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng phán như sau: Này Ta trao nộp ngươi vào tay những kẻ ngươi ghét, vào tay những kẻ ngươi không còn lưu luyến.29 Chúng sẽ hành hạ ngươi vì thù ghét; chúng sẽ chiếm lấy tất cả lợi tức của ngươi. Chúng sẽ bỏ ngươi trần truồng không mảnh vải che thân, phơi bày sự trần truồng và thói đàng điếm của ngươi ra. Chính tội ác tày trời, thói đàng điếm của ngươi30 đã gây nên cho ngươi các điều ấy, bởi ngươi đàng điếm chạy theo các dân tộc, nên ngươi đã ra ô uế vì các ngẫu tượng của chúng.31 Ngươi đi theo đường lối của chị ngươi. Ta cũng sẽ trao chén của nó vào tay ngươi.32 ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng phán thế này:
Ngươi sẽ uống chén của chị ngươi;
chén ấy vừa sâu lại vừa rộng.
Ngươi nên trò cười, thành đề tài nhạo báng,
vì chén ấy chứa được quá nhiều.
33 Ngươi sẽ đầy ứ say sưa và phiền muộn.
Đó là chén đựng hoang tàn và đổ nát,
chén của Sa-ma-ri, chị ngươi.
34 Ngươi sẽ uống, sẽ dốc cạn chén ấy
rồi gặm những mảnh sành,
rạch nát cả đôi vú của ngươi.
Quả thật, chính Ta đã phán - sấm ngôn của ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng.
35 Vì thế, ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng phán thế này: Vì ngươi đã lãng quên và vứt bỏ Ta ra đàng sau lưng, nên đến lượt ngươi, hãy mang lấy ô nhục và tính đàng điếm của ngươi.36 ĐỨC CHÚA phán với tôi: Hỡi con người, ngươi có muốn xét xử O-ho-la và O-ho-li-va không? Hãy nói cho chúng biết những điều ghê tởm của chúng.37 Quả thật, chúng đã ngoại tình, tay chúng vấy đầy máu. Chúng đã ngoại tình với các ngẫu tượng của chúng; và ngay cả con cái chúng đã sinh ra cho Ta, chúng cũng thiêu làm mồi cho các ngẫu tượng đó.38 Chúng còn xử với Ta như thế này nữa là làm ô uế thánh điện của Ta trong ngày đó và vi phạm các ngày sa-bát của Ta.39 Khi đã tàn sát con cái mình để kính các ngẫu tượng của chúng, chúng còn dám vào thánh điện của Ta trong ngày đó, khiến cho thánh điện của Ta bị xúc phạm. Chúng đã làm như thế đó ở giữa Nhà của Ta.
40 Hơn nữa, chúng đã cử người đi tìm những kẻ từ xa; một sứ giả đã được sai đến với những kẻ đó. Này chúng đến. Vì chúng mà ngươi tắm rửa, vẽ mắt và đeo các đồ trang sức.41 Rồi ngươi ngồi trên một cái giường lộng lẫy, phía trước có kê sẵn một cái bàn, trên đó ngươi bày ra hương và dầu của Ta.42 Người ta nghe thấy tiếng một đám đông ồn ào vô tư lự. Thêm vào đó, còn có nhiều người từ khắp nơi trong sa mạc đến vây quanh; chúng đeo kiềng vào tay, đội triều thiên rực rỡ lên đầu các phụ nữ.43 Bấy giờ tôi nói về người phụ nữ đã rạc đi vì ngoại tình: bây giờ chính nó vẫn còn miệt mài trong các cuộc truy hoan.44 Người ta đến với nó như đến với một con điếm. Chúng đã đến với O-ho-la và O-ho-li-va là những thứ đàn bà hư hỏng.45 Nhưng những người công chính sẽ xét xử chúng theo phán quyết về những kẻ ngoại tình và những kẻ gây đổ máu, vì chúng ngoại tình và tay chúng vấy đầy máu.
46 Quả thật, ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng phán thế này: Hãy triệu tập đại hội để trừng phạt chúng; hãy để mặc cho chúng phải kinh hãi và bị cướp bóc.47 Đại hội sẽ ném đá trị tội chúng và dùng gươm vằm nát chúng. Người ta sẽ tàn sát con trai con gái chúng và phóng hoả đốt nhà chúng.48 Ta sẽ chấm dứt cảnh ô nhục trong xứ. Tất cả phụ nữ sẽ được sửa dạy và không còn hành động theo vết ô nhục của các ngươi nữa.49 Người ta sẽ giáng trả trên các ngươi sự ô nhục của các ngươi; các ngươi sẽ phải gánh lấy các tội thờ ngẫu tượng của mình. Bấy giờ các ngươi sẽ nhận biết chính Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA, là Chúa Thượng.

Two Sisters
23 The Lord’s message came to me: 2 “Son of man, there were two women who were daughters of the same mother. 3 They engaged in prostitution in Egypt; in their youth they engaged in prostitution. Their breasts were squeezed there; lovers[a] fondled their virgin nipples there. 4 Oholah was the name of the older and Oholibah[b] the name of her younger sister. They became mine and gave birth to sons and daughters.[c] Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.
5 “Oholah engaged in prostitution while she was mine.[d] She lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians[e]—warriors[f] 6 clothed in blue, governors and officials, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses. 7 She bestowed her sexual favors[g] on them; all of them were the choicest young men of Assyria. She defiled herself with all whom she desired[h]—with all their idols. 8 She did not abandon the prostitution she had practiced in Egypt, for in her youth men went to bed[i] with her, fondled her virgin breasts, and ravished her.[j] 9 Therefore I handed her over to her lovers, the Assyrians[k] for whom she lusted. 10 They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and daughters, and killed her with the sword. She became notorious[l] among women, and they executed judgments against her.
11 “Her sister Oholibah watched this,[m] but she became more corrupt in her lust than her sister had been, and her acts of prostitution were more numerous than those of her sister. 12 She lusted after the Assyrians—governors and officials, warriors in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men. 13 I saw that she was defiled; both of them followed the same path. 14 But she increased her prostitution. She saw men carved on the wall, images of the Chaldeans carved in bright red,[n] 15 wearing belts on their waists and flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like officers, the image of Babylonians[o] whose native land is Chaldea. 16 When she saw them,[p] she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.[q] 17 The Babylonians crawled into bed with her.[r] They defiled her with their lust; after she was defiled by them, she[s] became disgusted with them. 18 When she lustfully exposed her nakedness,[t] I[u] was disgusted with her, just as I[v] had been disgusted with her sister. 19 Yet she increased her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in prostitution in the land of Egypt. 20 She lusted after her lovers there, whose genitals were like those of donkeys,[w] and whose emission was like that of stallions.(Tạm dịch: 20 Cô ta thèm muốn những người yêu của cô ấy ở đấy, “DƯƠNG VẬT” của họ giống như của lừa và họ “XUẤT TINH” giống như ngựa đực). 21 This is how you assessed[x] the obscene conduct of your youth, when the Egyptians fondled[y] your nipples and squeezed[z] your young breasts 22 “Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look here,[aa] I am about to stir up against you the lovers with whom you were disgusted; I will bring them against you from every side: 23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod,[ab] Shoa,[ac] and Koa,[ad] and all the Assyrians with them, desirable young men, all of them governors and officials, officers and nobles, all of them riding on horses. 24 They will attack[ae] you with weapons,[af] chariots, wagons, and with a huge army;[ag] they will array themselves against you on every side with large shields, small shields, and helmets. I will assign them the task of judgment;[ah] they will punish you according to their laws. 25 I will direct[ai] my jealous anger against you, and they will deal with you in rage. They will cut off your nose and your ears,[aj] and your survivors will die[ak] by the sword. They will seize your sons and daughters, and your survivors will be consumed by fire. 26 They will strip your clothes off you and take away your beautiful jewelry. 27 So I will put an end to your obscene conduct and your prostitution that you have practiced in the land of Egypt.[al] You will not seek their help[am] or remember Egypt anymore.
28 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look here,[an] I am about to deliver you over to[ao] those whom you hate, to those with whom you were disgusted. 29 They will treat you with hatred, take away all you have labored for,[ap] and leave you naked and bare. Your nakedness will be exposed, just as when you engaged in prostitution and obscene conduct.[aq] 30 I will do these things to you[ar] because you engaged in prostitution with the nations, polluting yourself with their idols. 31 You have followed the ways of your sister, so I will place her cup of judgment[as] in your hand. 32 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘You will drink your sister’s deep and wide cup;[at] you will be scorned and derided, for it holds a great deal. 33 You will be overcome by[au] drunkenness and sorrow. The cup of your sister Samaria is a cup of horror and desolation. 34 You will drain it dry,[av] gnaw its pieces,[aw] and tear out your breasts,[ax] for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord.’
35 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you have forgotten me and completely disregarded me,[ay] you must bear now the punishment for[az] your obscene conduct and prostitution.”
36 The Lord said to me: “Son of man, are you willing to pronounce judgment[ba] on Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominable deeds! 37 For they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and their sons, whom they bore to me,[bb] they have passed through the fire as food to their idols.[bc] 38 Moreover, they have done this to me: In the very same day[bd] they desecrated my sanctuary and profaned my Sabbaths. 39 On the same day they slaughtered their sons for their idols, they came to my sanctuary to desecrate it. This is what they have done in the middle of my house.
40 “They even sent for men from far away; when the messenger arrived, those men set out.[be] For them you bathed,[bf] painted your eyes, and decorated yourself with jewelry. 41 You sat on a magnificent couch, with a table arranged in front of it where you placed my incense and my olive oil. 42 The sound of a carefree crowd accompanied her,[bg] including all kinds of men;[bh] even Sabeans[bi] were brought from the desert. The sisters[bj] put bracelets on their wrists and beautiful crowns on their heads. 43 Then I said about the one worn out by adultery, ‘Now they will commit immoral acts with her.’ 44 They slept with her[bk] the way someone sleeps with a prostitute. In this way they slept with Oholah and Oholibah, promiscuous women. 45 But upright men will punish them appropriately for their adultery and bloodshed,[bl] because they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.
46 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Bring up an army[bm] against them and subject them[bn] to terror and plunder. 47 That army will pelt them with stones and slash them with their swords; they will kill their sons and daughters and burn their houses.[bo] 48 I will put an end to the obscene conduct in the land; all the women will learn a lesson from this and not engage in obscene conduct. 49 They will repay you for your obscene conduct, and you will be punished for idol worship.[bp] Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.”

The Sins of Two Sisters. 1 This word of the Lord came to me: 2 Son of man, there once were two women, the daughters of the same mother. 3 Even as young girls they became prostitutes in Egypt. There the Egyptians caressed their bosoms and fondled their virginal breasts. 4 The older was named Oholah,[b] and her sister was Oholibah. They were mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.
5 Oholah became a whore even though she belonged to me. She lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians— 6 warriors dressed in purple, governors and commanders, all of them handsome young men and skilled horsemen. 7 She offered herself as a prostitute to all the elite of the Assyrians, and she defiled herself with the idols of all those for whom she lusted. 8 Nor did she discontinue the harlotry she had begun in Egypt, where men had slept with her as a young girl, fondling her virginal breasts and pouring out their lust upon her.
9 Therefore, I abandoned her to her lovers, the Assyrians, for whom she had lusted. 10 They stripped her naked, and after they took away her sons and her daughters, they slew her with the sword. She became a byword among women for the justice that was inflicted upon her.
11 Her sister Oholibah saw all this, but she was even more depraved in her lust than her sister, and she surpassed her in harlotry. 12 She too lusted after the Assyrians—governors and commanders, warriors arrayed in full armor, skilled horsemen, all of them handsome young men. 13 Then I realized that she, too, had been defiled. Both she and her sister had traveled the same path.
14 However, this younger sister went even further in her harlotry. When she saw male figures carved on the wall, images of the Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion, 15 with belts around their waists and flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like Babylonian officers, natives of Chaldea; 16 as soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers[c] to them in Chaldea. 17 Then the Babylonians came to her, shared her bed of love, and defiled her with their lust. And after she had defiled herself with them, she turned away from them in disgust.
18 After she had flaunted her harlotry so openly and her nakedness was revealed, I turned from her in disgust as I had withdrawn from her sister. 19 Yet she became even more promiscuous, remembering the days of her youth when she had played the whore in Egypt 20 and lusted for her lecherous paramours there, whose members were like those of donkeys and whose ejaculations were like those of stallions (Tạm dịch: 20 Cô ta thèm muốn những người yêu cô ấy ở đấy, “DƯƠNG VẬT” của họ giống như của lừa và họ “XUẤT TINH” giống như ngựa đực). 21 You longed for the lewdness of your youth when the Egyptians fondled your bosom and caressed your breasts. 22 Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord God: I will now stir up against you your lovers from whom you turned away in disgust, and I will bring them against you from every side: 23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, the men of Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them, handsome young men, all of them governors and commanders, officers and warriors, and all of them mounted on horses. 24 They shall come against you from the north with chariots and wagons and a host of people, and they will position themselves against you on every side with bucklers, shields, and helmets. I shall authorize them to pass judgment upon you, and they will judge you according to their own ordinances.
25 I will direct my jealous wrath against you so that they will vent their fury against you. They will cut off your nose and your ears, and your survivors will perish by the sword. They will seize your sons and your daughters, and what remains of your family will be consumed by fire.[d] 26 They shall also strip off your clothes and rob you of your jewels. 27 Thus, I will put an end to the debauchery and lewdness you instituted in Egypt. You will not look back in fond remembrance on the wicked acts you committed or think of Egypt ever again.
